Carl James Walker

Of Jackson, MI passed away on April 26, 2017 with his loving family at his side. Jim was born on June 4, 1947 to Ernest and Aileen Walker in Marquette, MI. Jim married the love of his life Lynda (Carroll) on June 24, 1966 in Jackson, MI. Jim worked very hard as an MDOC corrections officer/transfer officer for the prisons. Jim was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, an amateur race car builder/driver, NASCAR fan, avid U of M fan, and animal lover. He enjoyed attending auctions and was a member of the State Employee Retirement Association. He is survived by his children, Timothy Walker and Christina (Russell) Young; grandchildren, Tiffany (Aaron) Trachet, George (Brittney) Walker, Allen Young, Angel (Travis) Arbogast, and Devin Young; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Karen Walker; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lynda; daughter, Mary; and brother, Rodney. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Father Brian Lenz officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 11:00 AM until time of service. Jim will be laid to rest at Woodland Cemetery next to his beloved wife Lynda. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Dr., Jackson, MI 49202.
