Carol L. Mallett led a very rich life while here, giving much very quietly. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She chose as her church home Second Baptist Church where her father served as a deacon. Carol graduated from Jackson High School in 1966, and helped to take care of her mother and father following graduation, Georgia and Walter Mallett. What a selfless act of love!!! Carol loved the kitchen and loved to cook, making such delicacies as homemade cakes and cookies. She enjoyed cooking and decorating. By 1982, she began working in the Jackson Public Schools Adult Education Department at John George Hall, as a Para-Professional. Later, she worked at Griswold School in the area of Security. Carol also worked as a Computer Aide at Bennett School until she became ill. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the children.
Carol is survived by her brother, Walter C Mallett, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special cousin is Patricia Hibler, and special friend is Irene Estelle. Preceding Carol in death, and was waiting to welcome her was her parents Walter Mallett Sr and Georgia (Love) Mallett, and her brother, Roosevelt (Pete) Mallett.
Carol grew up a very confident, capable woman due to the love of the parents God gave her. She took the attributes and gifts God gave her and shared them with other adults and children which proves the adage "Woman Know Thyself !!!" We are proud to have known and loved this great woman who shared her life with us. She knew as we know, "Behind every young child who believes in himself is a parent who believed first." Carol was not a "biological" parent, but had many children in her heart!!! She helped us to raise our children and grandchildren through her employment and her many, many acts of kindness.
