Of Jackson passed away at his home, on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, June Harner Konopka; daughter, Donna Konopka, of Richland, MI as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was born to Isadore and Pearl Konopka in Jackson. He attended Jackson High School, after his service in the U.S. Army he returned to Jackson and raised his family. He retired from Kent-Moore after 37 years. He enjoyed bowling, golf, being outdoors and the game of chance. The Konopka family would like to acknowledge Linda and Lisa of Allegiance Hospice; friend Jerry Lemmon and niece, Carrie Dick for their kind and compassionate care. A celebration of Don’s life will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Berry officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park with military honors. Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to Allegiance Hospice.
