Earl K. Scott

Of Jackson, passed away at home in loving care of his family and Allegiance Hospice on January 11, 2011, at the age of 81. He was born in Cheboygan on July 15, 1929, the fifth of seven children. He is survived by his four children, Susan M. Hines, Diane K. Scott, Brian K. Scott (Celia) and Randall R. Scott (Bonnie); one sister, Joyce Retzloff of Cheboygan; five grandchildren, Cory and Caitlin Hines; Billy, April and Michael Scott; and ten great-grandchildren. Earl was a devoted husband and father, appreciated and well liked by those who knew him. He enjoyed helping people with their home-improvement projects and assisted many friends and family wherever he was needed. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Barbara J. Scott (Cole) who passed away January 20, 2010; his brothers, Fred, Joseph, James and Percy; and his sister, Donna Smigelski.

We want to thank all of our family, friends and neighbors, for their outpouring of love and support during a difficult time. We also want to thank the staff and volunteers at Allegiance Hospice, for their kind and thoughtful care of Earl and his family.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a memorial visitation Saturday January 15, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
