

Ethyl is survived by her son, James (Cindy) Clippard; grandchildren, Alicia D (Ean) Crane, Justine A, Braxton J, and Osias X (Isabelle); great grandchildren, Lily R (Matthew) Tripp, Zerra, Maximus, October, and Eva; great great grandchild Jesse; brothers, John Hon, Gene Hon, and Benny Hon; sisters, Leona Rea and Mary Walsh; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Ethyl is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Clippard; brothers, Ralph Hon, Virgil Hon and Doyle Hon; sister, Margie Hon, Viola Loetscher, and Nancy Hicks.
Ethyl was involved in SOAR ministry (Serving Others And Rejoicing). Ethyl and James were volunteers while they were retired and traveling around the United States. She loved to cook, and do crochet, making blankets for the grandchildren creating keepsakes that carried warmth, care, and lasting meaning. Ethyl loved to play cards with friends and especially enjoyed all types of games with her grandchildren.
Ethyl will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home, 1806 E. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, Michigan, on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will take place at Burden & Patience-Montgomery, 1806 E. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, Michigan, on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 am. Ethyl will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery with her husband James.
