Eunice T. Meeks, 83, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at his home in Jackson, Michigan. Eunice, better known as “T” was born January 19, 1934 in Sunflower, Mississippi to Emmett and Annie (Garth) Meeks and was the oldest of three children.
“T” later moved to St. Louis, Missouri and finally settled in Jackson, Michigan where he was surrounded with family and lasting friendships. “T” lived a full life and had many interests. He had a great ear for music, and he enjoyed playing the harmonica, guitar, and singing. He was very good with his hands and loved to repair televisions. “T” is survived by his eight children: Cynthia Norris-Little, Ronald Norris, Ida Meeks-Tate, Delreese Meeks, Rosando Meeks, Joel Meeks, Shaun Meeks and Nadina Meeks; twenty-nine grandchildren and an abundance of great-grandchildren. “T” was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Annie Pearl Hunt; and his brother, Ismail Abdul Raheem --̶ a.k.a. JC Meeks.
“T” was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A Homegoing Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Lily Missionary Baptist Church (1117 W. G. Wade Dr., Jackson, MI 49203).
