Gerrie J. Miles

Of Jackson, joined her husband of 62 years, Richard Miles in Heaven on Monday, September 16. 2019 at the age of 84. She was also preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Teresa) Miles, Jr. and Ron (Sharon) Miles; five grandchildren, Alana (Ben) Plum, Jennifer (Joe) Fall, Jessica Schneider, Rebecca (Cameron) Kohn and Veronica (Keith) Ciaramitaro-Miles; twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; siblings, Dale, Sally, Kathy and Danny as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Gerrie was one of twelve children born to Ezra and Mildred (Tingley) Chatfield in Jackson on August 26, 1935. She is a graduate of East Jackson High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She had a strong faith in the Lord and attended Grace Church for many years. Her compassion for others was sincere and she would often volunteer for Respite care for others. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. A service honoring her life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Miles will be laid to rest next to her husband at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Ridgecrest and Elara Caring Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
