Helen M. Ohlerich

Of Jackson, passed away on December 26, 2011 at the age of 85. Helen was born on April 7, 1926 in Rives Junction, MI to parents George O. and Blanche (Allison) Lewis. Helen married Gaylord R. Ohlerich, Sr. on August 23, 1945 in Charleston, SC. Helen was a teletype supervisor at Consumers Power Company for many years before retiring in 1978. She was a member of Trinity and Redeemer Lutheran Churchs. She loved being around her family and friends. Helen is survived by her husband Gaylord, Sr.; son, Gaylord, Jr.(Sally); daughters, Linda (Dennis) Curey, Pamela (Timothy) Murphy, Carla Ohlerich; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Kenneth (Marilyn) Lewis; one sister, Edna Mae (Hugh) Taylor. She was predeceased in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian (Bill) Barson, Dorothy (Keith) Campbell and one grandchild. Thank you to the nursing staff at Allegiance step-down for the wonderful care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 30 from 5-8 pm with Pastor Jack Fugate officiating. Helen will be laid to rest in Tompkins Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or Cascades Humane Society.
