Of Grayling/Jackson, passed away of Dementia at Highland Home in Jackson, with his family at his side, February 18, 2017 at the age of 77, while under the care of Southern Care Hospice. Herbert was the son of the late Henry and Alicia (Whitehouse-Troub) Foor, born Jan. 2, 1940 in Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Judy, who was the love of his life; grandson, Andreas Demos; sister, Juanita Moss of Arkansas; and a special Aunt and Uncle Al and Marge Wojcik. Herbert graduated from Jackson High School in 1958, immediately enlisted in the Navy and proudly served six years, four in the Naval Reserves, where he was classified as Electrician and trained with the Military Police. In 1960 he married his high school sweetheart Judy Carr and together they raised four children, to whom they dedicated their lives. He joined the IBEW, working alongside his father and trained to become an Electrician. He worked hard and was very proud of his trade and being a union worker, where he became a Master Electrician with more than 55 years of dedicated service. Herb was instrumental in working on several Jackson landmarks, too many to list. He was especially proud of being the Job Site Foreman in the building of the Westwood Mall. He served on the City of Jackson Electrical Board and built a reputation over the years as one of the best in his trade. Some of the next generation of Electricians to this day refer to him as a “Legend.” He is survived by his daughter, Donna (Theodore) Demos; sons, Russell (Karen), Michael (Angela), and Kenneth Foor: grandchildren, Randall, Paul, Nicole, Todd, and Kaylenna Foor; brother-in-law, Dean Carr; special sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Cindy Bacon; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at Highland Home, along with Southern Care Hospice for the more than wonderful care they provided. He and Judy were loved by their neighbors and friends in Grayling, who went the extra mile to look in on them and help them whenever they could. A very special thanks to Paul Folsum, his Grayling neighbor, who tended to all of Herb’s needs while in the early stages of Dementia. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Father Dusan Koprivica officiating. Burial Roseland Memorial Gardens. Visitation, Tuesday 3-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Highland Homes Alzheimer’s Unit, or to the charity of your choice.
