Ivah-Marie Hurst

Went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on October 11 at the age of 77. She was born January 7, 1940 to Arnold H. Prissing and R. Jeannette (Prissing) Schlenker. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Jack Charles Hurst; her mother and father; and her brother, Harold Prissing. She is survived by two brothers: Arnold Prissing and Daniel (Debbie) Schlenker; step-sister, Diana (Earl) Kraft; her four children: Guy Hurst, Jeannette Hurst Williams, Jack (Shari) Hurst, and Esther Hurst (Erik) Schmidt; five grandchildren: Benjamin, Elijah, Lucas, and Ivah-Marie Williams, and Holly Hurst; sister-in-law and good friend Wanda Hurst; niece, Rhonda Neelis; and three great-grandchildren. Ivah-Marie was an accomplished chef, an avid reader, and had a deep appreciation for good music. She also enjoyed horses, owls, pine trees, Oregon, and her 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. The world has lost a great chef and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Per her wishes, cremation has been selected and a memorial service will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home (1805 E. Michigan Ave, Jackson, MI) on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 2 pm with visitation at 1 pm.
