Jeanne M. Turner

Passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the age of 60. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Maxine (Klein) Rooker and her brother, David Rooker. She is survived by her son, Jason (Tracy) VanBuren; grandchildren, Hannah VanBuren, Jonathan Minzinga and Jessica (Alex) Gasca; great granddaughter, Mila Gasca; her sister, Sarah (David) Alegre; brothers, Donald (Tammy) Rooker and Daniel Rooker; nephew, Karl Rooker; sister-in-law, Dru Rooker ; nieces, Katie Richards and Liz Rittersdorf. She was born on April 8, 1952, in Rockford, MI. She completed high school at Parkside High School, graduating in 1970. She waited tables and tended bar at the Brown Hut for 18 years and worked as a bartender; waitress and cook at the Oak Tree Lounge for four years. She then bought My Playce Pub & Grill. In 2009 she passed the Michigan real estate license exam and she sold Business real estate for a short period of time. She loved her three cats (Buster, Bo and Binki) they were her daily companions. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held at Rookies Sports Bar & Grill (Formerly My Playce Pub) 1910 S. Cooper St. Jackson, MI 49203 on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm. Because of her love for animals, donations to the Jackson County Animal Shelter (3370 Spring Arbor Rd. Jackson, MI 49203) would be appreciated.
