John Christopher Strack

Of Clark Lake, MI passed away on January 5, 2022, at the age of 71. John was born in Detroit, MI on October 12, 1950, to parents Nils and Geraldine (Galasso) Thomsen. John graduated from Nativity of our Lord High School in Detroit in 1968 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in business from Eastern Michigan University in 1972. After college, John enlisted and served in the United States Naval Reserve from 1972 until 1978. He married Deniece Bidwell on May 24, 1975. John worked in sales and advertising. He was known to all his family and friends as a gregarious man, eager to strike up a conversation and showed earnest interest in the lives of anyone he came into contact with. He was an avid Detroit sports fan and loved to both play and watch the game of golf. Most of all, John loved spending time with his family and friends. He had an infectious laugh and will be missed by all. John is survived by his wife Deniece (Bidwell) Strack; children Andrew (Caitlin Rothstein) Strack of Newton, MA and Jennifer (Matthew LaFountain) Strack of Chicago, IL; and grandchildren Isaac Strack and Gabriel Strack of Newton, MA. He is preceded in death by his parents Nils and Geraldine Thomsen. A gathering to celebrate John's life will be held at a later date.
