Of Jackson, passed away at his home on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the age of 82; with family at his bedside. He is survived by only son, Joseph “Jr.” (Amy) Palmer; sister, Ardella Faulkner and grandchild, Rin Dunlap. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five siblings, Mary Jane Palmer, James Palmer, Clara Ford, Merrill Palmer and Lydia Palmer as well as a nephew, Gregory Faulkner. Joe was born to Joel and Rosa (Greenwood) Palmer in Jackson on September 7, 1934. He work for the Y.M.C.A. for over 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, NASCAR and watching races at tracks in the area. He will be greatly missed. A service honoring him will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. He will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
