Of Albion, Michigan passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the age of 72. Kurk was born in Albion, MI on February 15, 1952 to parents Clifford and Geraldine "Jerry" Metzler. He married his wife of 52 years Gilda (McManus) Metzler on September 18, 1971. Kurk worked as a gas attendant at "Zepher Gas Station", and worked at Slaughter’s Albion Pasty. He also became a journeyman of the tool and die for 41 years at Albion Machine and Tool Company. Kurk is survived by his wife Gilda and children Michael Eric (Brittanie) Metzler and Terry Charles Metzler, special brothers Kenny Fischer and Neil Haack. Per his wishes cremation as taken place with a celebration of Kurk’s life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at St. James Church Hall (119 West Erie Street, Albion, Michigan) with Pastor Kim Conant officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Church, 119 West Erie Street, Albion, Michigan 49224 or St. Joseph Catholic Church of St. Vincent de Paul 61 North 23rd Street Battle Creek, Michigan 49015.
