

Was born on February 11th 1948 in Albion Michigan. To the Union of Isadore (Ike) Kirkland and Susie Grace Kirkland. Leon and his brothers were the 1st triplets born at Albion Memorial Hospital. Leon was preceded in death by both parents. Two sons Bryant Kirkland and Jeff Adams. Six siblings Lloyd C. Kirkland in infancy, Louis (Louie) B. Kirkland, Iserle (Pat) Kirkland, Isadore (Jr.) Kirkland Jr., Barbara Kirkland, and Grace (Leasha) Kirkland.
Leon graduated from Jackson public schools and went on to work various jobs. Eventually he ended up working for Jackson Ford which is now Seymour Ford working as a Detailer for more than 20 years in which he retired from. He loved cars and even after he retired he continued to detail cars for family and friends.
Leon loved fishing, board games, playing horseshoes, and blowing trees. Leon was a fun loving man who loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He loved the children and would always imitate Donald Duck and make them laugh. He was very laid back and even if he was troubled you would never know it. He loved his family, friends and he was very loyal.
Leon is survived by his significant other of 34 years Laurie Adams. One sister Betty Suddeth of Georgia, he loved his Bett Bett, as he called her. Three daughters Debbie Kay Crenshaw (Ray) Of South Carolina, Felicia Frenchwood of Michigan, and Danelle Adams (Jared) of Indiana. One son David Adams (Jessica) of Michigan. 20 grandchildren, with special mention to his granddaughter Kaylee Zamora (Juan) of Michigan with whom he shared a very special relationship and bond with. A host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, with special mention to his niece Karen (Niecey) Suddeth of Texas, with whom he also had a very special relationship and bond with. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
