An angel was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 age 60. She is survived by her daughter; Margaret “Marti” Marie Jarrell Calhoun, Margaret’s fiancé Gary Carnes, one granddaughter; Shania Calhoun, four sisters; Darlene (Art) Smith, Peggy (Cris) Broughman, Imajean (Kevin) Lawe and Yvonne Adkins, one brother; Matthew (Leslie) Adkins, very special family members Grady and Melbra Jarrell and Carl Calhoun and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her mother; Margaret E. Adkins Campbell, her father; Ira Luther Adkins, two brothers; James L. Adkins and Roger L. Adkins. Lila worked at Goodyear for many years and Hancock Industries for 16 years, she was vice president of UAW union, member of Caps Council, and enjoyed arts and crafts, fishing, garage sales and playing poker. A special thanks to Kippie’s caregivers, Annette Ott, Cristy Fyffe, Samantha Fyffe, Robin Boughton, Jill Olney, Rochelle Dean and the past caregivers. A celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home Friday July 26, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. Cremation will follow services. Visitation Thursday 6-8 P.M. and Friday 12:00 P.M. until service time.
