

Marion Edward Ware, Jr. was born on September 4, 1947 to Marion Edward Ware, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Ware (Norris). Marion graduated from Jackson High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Army, where he served 17 years. He was deployed to Ankhe, Vietnam aboard the USS Alexander M, Patch troop transport ship in August 1965. He returned home August 1966. Marion completed jump school July 1965, and also completed air assault training in 6 weeks. He was assigned to headquarters 1st Brigade (82nd Air Borne) 1st Calvary Division. Marion earned several honorary medals and badges during his time in the military. Some, to name a few: Purple Heart, Drill Sergeant, Combat Infantryman, Vietnam service medal and many more. Marion loved traveling, spending time with family, driving the charter bus for Lakefront and Columbus City Schools, fishing, karate in which he was a brown belt and most of all he loved watermelon. No matter where he went, he never met a stranger and he loved to talk. Marion was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Ware; parents, Marion Ware, Sr. and Mary E. Ware; brother, Eddie L. Ware; sisters, Geraldine McKenzie, Cecilia McCracken, Monica Cain and beloved grandson TaRae Potter. Marion leaves to cherish his memory 6 children, Marlon Ware, Anthony Allen, Yhosef Ware and Ebonisha Ware all of Jackson, MI; Ruben Ware and Monica Ware of Columbus, OH. One sister Jacqueline (Stanley) Trice of Memphis, TN. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to his caregiver Jacquelyn Atkins.
