Of Jackson, passed away August 22, 2016, age 82. Melvin was survived by his wife of forty-three years, Celeste; one step-son, Ronald Johnson; two brothers, Travis Harris and Gene (Judy) Harris; one sister, Carrolyn Harris; two nephews, Kevin and Chad; and one niece, Lisa. Melvin retired from the State of Michigan as Deputy Director of Civil Rights. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with family hour starting at 10:00 A.M.
