

Of Jackson, Michigan passed away on August 17, 2017 at the age of 72. Mike was born on March 19, 1945 in Stockbridge, Michigan to parents Robert Bishop and Dolores (Farmer) Bishop. He married the love of his life, Shari (Wagner) Bishop, on June 26, 1983. He worked as a Corrections Officer for the state of Michigan and served as a volunteer firefighter for Henrietta Township for 23 years. Mike was known for the huge heart that he had towards everyone and his love of making his famous salsa and roasting his amazing pigs. He is survived by his loving wife Shari; beloved daughter and son-in-law Amanda and Micah Lenamond; two grandchildren, Reagan and Tanner Lenamond; daughter, Brenda Brenner; sons, Gary Larner and Michael Bishop; sister, Cindy Taylor; and niece, Amy (Taylor) Coffman. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bishop; mother, Dolores (Farmer) Begel; and sisters, Kathy Hayden and Sandy Comperchio. Mike was an avid hunter; he also enjoyed playing APA pool and talking on his CB radio. He was a veteran of the Michigan Army National Guard in the 1960’s. Per his wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. The family will receive friends Sunday 11:00 A.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
