After working various jobs, Monique decided to further her education and received an associate’s degree in accounting and marketing. She later discovered a passion in caring for the elderly and pursued a career as a nursing assistant with Chelsea Retirement Community. While employed at Chelsea Retirement, Monique formed a close bond with several residents. The way she cared for the residents, earned her much adoration and respect from the patients families. One of Monique’s greatest wishes in life was to be a mother. On August 12, 2021, she was to be blessed with her first born child. Due to the emergent situation, Queenie graced us with her presence on June 17, 2021 at 12:16 am. At the tender age of 3 days old, Queenie had earned herself 2 nicknames, P.J. (Pookey Jr.) and Bug. Monique had planned for Queenie to share in her mother’s love of the colors pink and grey. The 31 weeks that Monique spent carrying Queenie were some of the happiest moments of her life. Monique enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with loved ones. She also loved making baby blankets and hats for charity. She was also a diehard Michigan State and Baby Yoda fan. She was a devoted daughter, a best friend to her sister, and confidant to her friends. Monique is survived by her mother; Deborah (Williams) Davenport, father; John H.
