

Of Jackson, passed away March 2, 2011, age 93. She was born August 14, 1917 to John and Blanch (Angevine) Hatch of Horton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald B. and brothers, Robert, Dallas, Charles, John and R.D. Hatch; sisters, Mildred Mann, Lois James, Jean Gossett, Marilyn Green and Ruth Eckert; also son-in-law, Kenneth Williams. Survived by two daughters, Beverly (Fred) Walters of Jackson and Barbara Williams of Ohio; four granddaughters, Cynthia (Darcy) Clark, Laura (Tim) Levy, Amy (Samuel) Palmer and Beth Anne Williams; eight great-grandchildren, Katie Hartley, Jordan, Samantha, Madison and Hannah Levy, Sarah and Jared Clark and Arielle Palmer. Nellie graduated from Hanover-Horton High School. She spent many years working in the dining room of the Hayes Hotel and later worked with her husband Ronald at S & W Business Service. She was a member of Arbor Hills Country Club, First United Methodist Church of Jackson and for many years was very involved with Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 66. Nellie loved being with and doing for her family and always had a helping hand for anyone that needed it. She loved to play golf and bingo which she did well into her 80’s. She and Ron were members of the Jackson Citizen Patriot Golden Wedding Club. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 275 W. Michigan Ave. Jackson, Saturday at 11:00 am with Pastor Sue Babb officiating. Private burial Horton Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home Friday 4-7 pm In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff at Trellis Garden for helping to make Nellie’s seven year stay enjoyable and to all the staff at Highland Alzheimer’s Home and Allegiance Hospice for the loving care she was given these past few months.
