Passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Millicent Hadley; sons, Brian (Kathy) Hadley of Tampa, Florida and Chad (Barb Gordon) Hadley; two grandchildren, Bruce Slusser and Brooke “Punky” Hadley all of Jackson; brothers, Donald Hadley of Indiana, David (Shirley) Hadley and Jerry (Anita) Hadley of Georgia, his beloved nieces, nephews, good friends, Noel & Carolyn Stevick, Lisa Reasoner & Jimmy Delemater and Dawn Knauss, as well as his cherished feline companions, Casey and Charlie. He was preceded in death by special family friend, Mark Connell. Phillip was born to Dorothy and Hugh Hadley in Jackson. He was proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps. He worked many years at Yardman and then retired from the Department of Corrections. He was a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers, University of Michigan and Detroit Lions. He and his brother sold tomatoes locally for years and he was known as the “Tomato Man”. Per his wishes cremation has been chosen and a service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. Mr. Hadley’s family would like to acknowledge the Allegiance medical staff and oncology and radiation departments, Carelink, Faith Haven, Dr. Larry Jennings and Dr. John Hand for their kind and compassionate care. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Cascades Humane Society.
