

Ramona Ann (Grubbs) Knight was born July 25, 1961 in Jackson, Michigan. She departed this life to be with the Lord, on November 23, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at Henry Ford Hospice of Detroit. She leaves to cherish her memory three children: Kenya Grubbs, Terrance (Asia) Knight and Charissee Knight; also to cherish a very special companion, Richard (Vet) McKessy, all of Jackson, MI. Ramona was a very loving and proud grandmother of 15: Shakar Ragland-Knight, LaJuan Bramlett, Terrance Knight, Jr., Amontae Ragland-Knight, Aysa Villanueva, Octavious Smith, Vivica Knight, Angel Aguilera, Syndia Bramlett, Sincere Knight, Shanna Knight, Sha’riya Knight, Demetri Michel, Rayshawn Knight and Brooklyn Knight. In addition, three great grandchildren: Jazzmyne, Amir and Gracen Knight; 18 surviving siblings (8 sisters and 10 brothers); a special cousin, Regina Priddy; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Joan Hall; her father, Frank Pickett, Sr., as well as her stepfather, L.V. Grubbs, Sr. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie Grubbs and Frankie Pickett. Affectionately known as “Mona”, she was kind & compassionate to everyone she encountered and would always greet you with her bi infectious smile. Ramona began her studies at Jackson Community College late in life because “You’re never too old to start over” she would say. She held various positions in the healthcare field. Her passion has always been a caregiver. She was the most happy when she was helping someone else. She made herself available to her children, grandchildren and siblings whenever called upon. In nothing else, she was a fighter; and with the help of the Lord, she conquered many physical obstacles, which included being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 and healed in 2008. Funeral services will be held at Higby Street Church of Christ, 706 S. Higby St., Jackson on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. with the family nour starting at 11:00 A.M. Burial Woodland Cemetery. Viewing at the funeral home Thursday 4-8 P.M.
