Age 73, of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by his family at home. He was born May 17, 1952 to Casey and Lottie (Skrzynski) Zyla in Albion, MI. Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory wife, Patricia (Lewis) Zyla; sons, Bud (Traci) and Jim; 5 grandchildren, Cody (Heather), Calob (Sieta), Brendan (Sydney), Nathan and Evan; 5 great grandchildren, Lizzy, Lexi, Amelia, Analee and Arthur. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Barry Zyla, Dennis Zyla and David Zyla. Richard had a strong background in manufacturing/engineering and product development. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial visitation for Richard will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 East Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI 49202), followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM, Memorial contribution in Richards name can be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 886 Hagerstown, MD 21741-0886.
