

Of Jackson, passed away at Ridgecrest Nursing Center on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the age of 90. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Flynn) Jennings. He is survived by his daughter, Sandy (Harry Krass) Rubert; four grandchildren, Rusty (Carol) Rubert, Todd (Teresa) Rubert, Matthew (Karen) Rubert and Lindsay (J.T.) Shaw; ten great grandchildren; sister, Viola Brooks as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Robert was born to Wesley and Zella (Halifax) Jennings in Jackson on April 14, 1925. He attended Vandercook Lake Schools and served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific. He returned to Jackson and worked at Clark Equipment. Robert owned homes locally and was a landlord to many in Jackson. He enjoyed an active life and had many hobbies to keep him busy. He and Ruth were “Snowbirds”; traveling to Florida for 40 years. Robert was a proud, hardworking family man. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. A service honoring his life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brad Foster officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Jennings will be laid to rest next to his wife at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allegiance Heart Center.
