Of Jackson, passed away on June 30, 2011 at the age of 74. He was born on February 22, 1937 to parents Robert and Edna McCombie. He retired from Michigan Bell after 35 years of service. He also was a licensed residential builder. He was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with the boys on the golf course. He is survived by his wife Linda Canter-McCombie; numerous stepchildren and grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Lynch; children, Cathy Good, Ken McCombie, Janice Dillen, and Russ McCombie; their mother Ellen Ashby; and eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his best friend Ken (Sid) Cook. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bill McCombie. A memorial service will take place Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at St. Johns United Church of Christ, 801 S. Mechanic St., Jackson, at 11:30 am with Reverend Jay Cummings, Pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Johns United Church of Christ.
