Of Jackson, passed away at home with her family by her side on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Edward G. Spencer and grandson, Shawn Reardon. She is survived by her children, Vonni Kaye (Stephen) Sayers, Harold Spencer, Eddie (Kelley) Spencer, Debbie Roth and daughter in-law, Patty Harmon; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Sharlene was born to Edward and Leah Schmid and resided in Jackson all her life. She owned and operated Aladdin’s Lamp restaurant in Michigan Center, then worked for Sherry’s Boutique for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed to travel. A celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Phil Stout officiating. Family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Great Lakes Hospice or Cascades Humane Society.
