Sharon Lee Buckland age 76 of Jackson, MI passed away on Sunday December 25, 2022. Sharon was born August 11, 1946. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years LaVern Buckland (October 5, 2021). She is survived by her children Mark (Melissa) Buckland, George (Fawn) Buckland, Lesley (Chuck)Minix, Michael (Christa) Buckland, Peggy (Dereck) Mohon. Thirteen grandchildren Jordan, Jeremy, Collin (Nicole) Buckland, Kristen (Matt), Carley Minix, Jacob, Ava Buckland, Zachary, Audrey, Olivia Seymour, Peyton, Tucker, Nathan Mohon. Five great grandchildren Levi, Carter Buckland, Baylee, Maycee Lewis, Nash Uhl. Survived by siblings Joan Griffus, Bradley (LaDonna) Stuart, John Stuart, Jane (Emerson) Clemons, as well as several brother and sister in laws, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Robert (Les) Stuart and Estella Stuart, she is also preceded in death by brothers William and Robert Stuart, and her sisters Evelyn Truitt, Carol Goode, and Marian Gattshall. In 1964 Sharon married her childhood sweetheart Lavern Buckland. She was a stay at home mother to their five children until they started off to school. She worked many places in the Jackson community both before and after retiring from Eaton Corporation where she worked in their offices. She enjoyed the computer technologies of the time and took many courses and training classes advancing her career. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her daily life was scheduled around her children and grandchildren, and could always be found at their events and extracurricular activities. Sharon had a generous and loving heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed traveling with her family, playing Yatzee and cards, and watching her crime shows and westerns. She was an excellent dancer, cook, and baker and was especially known amongst family and friends for her famous rice pudding. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be missed dearly. According to her wishes, Sharon will be cremated and a service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, 49202) The family will receive friends at 11:00 A.M.
