

68, of Royal Oak, MI, a long-time resident of the Detroit area, passed away at Triumph Hospital in Detroit on Monday, August 23, 2010 from a lengthy illness. Shirley was the daughter of Raymond and Fern Milliman, born June 19, 1942 in Brighton, MI. She is survived by a sister, Joyce (Gerald) Marxhausen of Jackson; brother, Arthur (JoAnn) Milliman of Flint; and a half-brother, Richard (Donna) Milliman of Lansing. She was preceded in death by her parents, half-brothers and sisters, Patricia Elliget, Jeannette Taschner, Phyllis Smith, Robert & Raymond Milliman; nephew, Brian Marxhausen. Shirley was a 1960 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Jackson Business University. She was employed for Vickers, Inc. in Detroit as a secretary for 26 years, retiring in 1993. She also sang in the Detroit Edison Glee Club for over 40 years. Shirley was a member of the Hope United Church of Christ in Fraser, MI. Funeral services will be held at the Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home, 406 First St., Jackson, MI on Friday 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ralph Brown officiating. Burial Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation Friday 10:00 a.m. until service time. A special thank you to Triumph Hospital in Detroit for their care of Shirley during her illness. A memorial service will be held at Hope United Church of Christ on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope United Church of Christ Building Fund, 32500 Utica Road, Fraser, MI 48026.
