Of Jackson, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the age of 77, while under the kind and compassionate care of the staff at Countryside Care Center. She is survived by significant other, Walter Rokita; her two sons, Danny (Vicky) Pickrell of TN and Michael Pickrell (Sharon Lee ) of Jackson; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, JoAnn (Ralph) Harris of Jackson and Robert Edwards of Hastings as well as many loving family members. She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Edwards and Thomas Edwards. Shirley was born to Thayer and Mary Edwards. She graduated from Michigan Center in 1953. She had a passion for life, music, dancing, laughter, being outdoors and she was a proud homemaker. A celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor John Tovey officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
