Of Jackson, MI passed away on November 19, 2020 at the age of 58. Tom was born in Jackson on November 10, 1962 to parents Larry and Rose Lantz. He married Lyn D. Passman in Las Vegas, NV on February 2, 2000. Tom was a chef for many years, working at Steak's Eatery, Knight's Inn and Bullinger's. He also was a handyman and jack of all trades. He was a lover of every animal, rescuing many. Tom is survived by his mother Rose Anne Lantz; children Michelle Howard, Karen Baker (special friend Eric Terrian), and Brian (Kim) Szczesney; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; in-laws Scott (Leila) Passman and Sue and Monte Hardy; aunts and uncles Patricia Padva, Clara Hahnefeld, Thomas (Debbie) Fitzsimmons, Lyle and Sharon Lantz, Merlin Lantz, Darel (Cheryl) Lantz, and Gary Lantz; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his father Larry L. Lantz, wife Lyn D. Lantz, father-and mother-in-law Barry and Pauline Passman, son-in-law Scott N. Howard, and grandparents Thomas and Frances Fitzsimmons, Floyd and Eva Lantz. Cremation has been chosen with a graveside service to be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Roseland Memorial Gardens and a celebration of Tom’s life will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rescue Me Jackson, PO Box 612, Jackson, MI 49204. Due to the new COVID-19 restrictions, the number of guests at the graveside service will be limited. Social distancing and masks will also be required.
