Timothy R. Brown

Passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving companion, Kathi Cagney. In addition, he is survived by siblings, Richard (Sharel) Brown and Diana (Dave) Young; as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. Tim was born in Detroit, MI to Roy and Marjorie (Groves) Brown on November 6, 1954. He was a Michigan State Alumni and avid Spartan fan. He owned and operated Gilbert’s steak house and was a wonderful host and boss to most of Jackson. Most recently he was employed at Dave’s Jackson Nissan where he gained more wonderful friends. Tim was a kind, gentle man who loved life, family, and making new friends. He enjoyed traveling, camping, nice cars, good food, music, and craft beers. Tim and Kathy were on a quest to visit all the breweries and brew pubs in Michigan; they made it to 103 together. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00AM with Father Jim Shaver officiating. Reflections with family and friends will be at 10:00 until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in his honor to a charity of one’s choice.
