

Angela Shawn Golleher Cox, 50, of Jacksonville, Fl., passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2015. She was born in Roswell, New Mexico on July 14, 1965, and resided in Jacksonville, Fl. Angela graduated from Englewood High School, and received a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of North Florida. She was married to Steve Cox, a loving, kind, patient, and devoted husband, on August 26, 1988, at the San Jose Church of Christ.
Angela, at the time of her passing, was employed by the Duval County Public Schools, for the last twenty-five years, as an Elementary Educator at Neptune Beach Elementary School. Teaching was a passion she gained from her mother and from her young teen days at the San Jose Church of Christ, where she began her on the job training, with the small children, for her career as a teacher. Angela truly loved teaching, and over the years has touched the lives of many. Her legacy will live on in the lives of the children she cherished, often clothed, and inspired to love God and country. She was a member of the Dean Road Church of Christ. Angela had a passion for the ocean, and outdoors. She was a certified diver, and enjoyed snorkeling and any other activities in and around the water with her family.
Angela was preceded in death by her father, Frank Golleher, her brother, Sgt First Class James Golleher (U.S. Army), and her mother in law and father in law, Greta and Obie Cox. Angela is survived by her husband Steve, and her wonderful children, Stevie Alexis Mallory Cox, and Daryl Obie Christian “DOC” Cox. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Judaun Ragan Golleher, her brother, Theron (Teresa) Golleher, her sister, Retha Michelle Golleher, and her nephews, Zachary James Golleher, and Theron Lance Golleher, Jr. She is also survived by many other family, friends, and loved ones.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, from 6p to 8p at the Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, Fl. The celebration of life will be Thursday, August 13, 2015, at 2 pm, at the San Jose Church of Christ, 6233 San Jose Blvd., with Minister Trae Durden officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dean Road Church of Christ, for the Cox Children Education Fund, 1968 Dean Rd., Jacksonville, Fl. 32216.
