Augustus E. Lanier Jr.

Augustus E. Lanier Jr., age 85, of Atlantic Beach, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Augustus was born on August 27, 1938 in New Orleans, LA to Augustus E. Lanier and Elma Lois (Nabors) Lanier.

Augustus is survived by his children Michael (spouse, Stephanie) Lanier and Shelia (spouse, Tom) Grossholz; grandchildren Lisa (Joel Hudson) Geraci, Mandy (Adam) Albritton, and Katie Clere; great-grandchildren Dominic Geraci, Taylor Albritton, Gabriel Albritton, and Joel Hudson; siblings Grace Plemmons, Augusta Lanier (twin sister), Carolyn (David) Massimi, Rachel Lanier, John Lanier, Lewis (Coral) Lanier, and Theresa Lanier; and several nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. Augustus is preceded in death by his parents, Augustus E. and Elma Lanier and his wife, Dorothy Lanier.

A visitation for Augustus will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. A funeral service will occur Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 11:30 AM at the funeral home . A committal service will occur Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32218.
