Bernadette Rule Harden, 87, passed away September 26, 2012. Bernadette was born August 20, 1925 in Tupper Lake, New York, to her parents William Noel and Eleanor Pelletier Rule. She graduated in 1977 from Tupper Lake High School.
Bernadette served as one of the World War II Government Girls in Washington, D.C. She was active in the PTA and held offices in Jacksonville Beach Elementary Schools. Bernadette was also a Den Leader and Den Leader Coach for the Jacksonville Beach Cub Scouts and Co-Founder of the Jacksonville Beach Sandy Crafters Artist Crafts Club. She was a member of Postmen’s Wives Union Auxiliary in Jacksonville Beach and a member of St. Paul’s By the Sea Episcopal Church.
Bernadette is preceded in death by her husband, a retired World War II veteran and retired Atlantic Beach Postman, in 1994. She is survived by 2 children, Noelle Valerie Ricks of Jacksonville and James Rule Harden of Jacksonville Beach and 5 grandchildren, Alan, Laura and Carolyn Ricks, Christopher and Autumn Harden.
A memorial service and burial of ashes will be held at St. Paul’s By the Sea Episcopal Church at a later date.
