Betty Lee Stainton of Atlantic Beach, FL passed away on February 20, 2021. She was born in Tampa, FL and grew up in Savannah, GA.
Betty Stainton graduated from Savannah High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Georgia. She also received a Master’s of Science degree in education.
She was a long time member of the Kendall Presbyterian Church in Miami. Betty was an educator in the Miami-Dade public schools for over forty years.
She was predeceased by her Parents, Robert Henry Forman and Ruth Sargent Forman, sister Barbara Joan Forman, brother Robert Sargent Forman, and nephew Robert George Forman Clemente.
She was married to Lafayette Stainton who passed away in 1981. She was later married to Philip Zelman who is also deceased.
She is survived by her son, Samuel David Stainton (Atlantic Beach, FL), Nephews: Robert Edward Forman (Evelyn) Jacksonville, FL, Michael Forman (Rhonda) Seattle, WA, Patrick Forman (Jan) Seattle, WA, and great nieces and nephews. Also survived by Ted Zelman, Andrea Zelman, and Julie Zelman DeLisle.
Betty had a passion for life, family, friends, travel and entertaining. She loved her church and God. She was also known for her generosity. She dearly love her son, Samuel.
A celebration will be held at the Kendall Presbyterian Church in Miami, FL at a future date to be announced.
All arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home Jacksonville Beach.
