

Bruce Andrew Swetz, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Jacksonville, FL on April 5, 2017. He was born on July 20, 1940 in Yonkers, NY to Andrew and Viola Swetz. Bruce moved to the Jacksonville area, where he attended Jacksonville University, receiving his Masters Degree in Business Administration.
Bruce met the love of his life Lynda in 1963 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary 2 years ago, on an Alaskan family cruise. In addition to his loving wife of 52 years Lynda, he leaves his two cherished children; Lara Bouvé (David) of Memphis, TN, Andrew Swetz (Melinda) of Vero Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Lyndsey and Abbey Bouvé, Mason and Quinton Swetz; his sister-n-law and brother-in-law Charlyne and John Carruth of Tamarac, FL and many nieces and nephews. Bruce was devoted to his family and friends and will be missed by all.
Bruce worked in several area hospitals, retiring in 2008 as a director of Nuclear Medicine in diagnostic radiology. Following his retirement, Bruce dedicated his time and love of animals by volunteering at the Jacksonville Zoo Animal Medical Center for 6 years. He was also named Volunteer of the Year.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11:00am at the Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. The family will receive friends at a reception immediately following.
