

Charles Bruce Guthrie, age 84, of Atlantic Beach, Florida passed away on April 20, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 16, 1942 in Clovis, California. Growing up, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his mom and dad. In 1961, he joined the US Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer after serving faithfully for 20 years as a computer systems operation supervisor. He then worked at the Haskell Company as a computer analyst for 20 years. He spent his remaining years spending time with his wife and enjoying life.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Martha Guthrie; his daughters: Denise Elliott (Donny) and Lori Jenkins (John Jr); his grandchildren: Ashley Burgos (Jason), Whitney MacDonald (Frank), John Jenkins, Justin Jenkins (Amanda); and his great grandchildren Emma, Eli, Owen, Olivia, and Emery.
He was a Christian who loved the Lord and lived his life accordingly. He was an active member of One Church Jax Beach (Formerly First Baptist Church Jax Beach) for over 40 years. He was an ordained Deacon and a Trustee of the church and was always willing to serve wherever he was needed. He will be greatly missed by his church family.
He dearly loved his family and enjoyed fishing with his buddies. He left a legacy of faith, love, faithfulness, and commitment. He was "The Rock" of our family and we will be forever grateful for having him as our Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Pop.

A service will be held at One Church Jax Beach 324 5th St N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 on Friday, the 24th at 11am.
