He was born in Trenton, NJ on August 18, 1961 and was part of the baby boomer generation.
Charlie grew up in Fairfax, VA and graduated from W.T. Woodson High School in 1979. He attended George Mason University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988. After college, he worked for several Fortune 500 companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield while living in Alexandria, VA. He had a passion for playing the drums and often played with friends at several Georgetown and Old Town bars and nightclubs on weekends. He loved watching the NFL and was a die hard Washington Redskin fan.
In 2004, Charlie moved to Jacksonville to be close to his parents, sister and her family. He took care of his parents in their later years while doing some freelance accounting work for college friends. He greatly enjoyed being near his family and spending time with his niece and nephews.
He is superseded in death by his parents, Charles and Florence Schwaner, and his nephew, Sean Doherty. He is survived by his sister, Caren M Doherty (Mike), his goddaughter and niece, Catie A. Messinger (Scott) and nephew, Patrick C. Doherty.
