Dorothy Rebecca Wilson

Dorothy Rebecca Wilson, 77, passed away December 22, 2013. Born in Jacksonville, she lived in Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach, and Neptune Beach all of her life and attended Jacksonville Beach Elementary and Fletcher High school. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Florida and a Master’s Degree in Education from Jacksonville University. After a successful 36-year teaching career, she retired from Atlantic Beach Elementary School. Dottie was a member of Mayport Presbyterian Church and the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (NAME). Her dollhouses and their contents were showcased in several local libraries.

Preceded in death by her parents, Dwight L. and Dorothy H. Wilson and nephew, Dwight H. Wilson, Jr., she is survived by her brothers, Dwight H. Wilson, Sr., (Gloria), Gilbert M. Wilson (Beverly) and her twin brother, Samuel D. Wilson (Judy); and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm Friday, Dec. 27th HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 pm in the funeral home’s chapel with Rev. Barbara Hamilton presiding. Interment will follow in H. Warren Smith Cemetery. For those who prefer, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
