Edwin B. McCarthy, 94, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away July 17, 2021. He was born in New York, NY on June 24, 1927. Edwin received a Bachelor’s from City College of New York. He was married to Joan M. O’Shea on June 19, 1954. She predeceased him. Edwin had a career in sales for IBM, Diocese of Rockville Centre. He had a passion for fishing, reading, and spending time at his cabin in Smallwood, NY. He was survived by his children Brian (Lisa), Maureen Pyle (Dan), Dennis (Karen), Kevin, and Sean; grandchildren Madeline, Lucas, Abigail, Andrew, Annamarie, Caleb, Ryan, John, Hannah, and Sarah; as well as his longtime companion Linda Scholtz. Edwin was predeceased by his son Thomas.
A celebration of life for Edwin will be held Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.
