Floyd Oliver Dixon III, USN Master Chief Retired, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2012. Floyd was born in Knoxville, TN on May 28, 1950. Floyd served our country honorably for 26 years in the US Navy. After retiring from Navy Floyd worked at Ashford Court assisted living @ Marsh Landing where he was a friend, mentor and close companion to all his co-workers and the residents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Susan C. Dixon, Atlantic Beach; daughter, Susan “Deedee” Ludlam (Shawn) and grandsons Justin & Cody all of Jacksonville; daughter, Dawn King (Terry) and granddaughters Kelsey & Nicole all of Green Cove Springs; brothers, Mike Dixon of Johnson City, TN, David Dixon of Houston, TX; and sister, Arlene Ward of Jonesborough, TN. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Dixon of Houston and his parents, Floyd O. Dixon, Jr., & Viola Dixon of Asheville, NC.
