In his younger years, Greg spent five years working aboard a commercial shipping vessel in Dutch Harbor, Alaska — an experience that reflected his adventurous spirit and strong work ethic. He later dedicated more than 25 years to the restaurant industry, helping open multiple Olive Garden locations and becoming a respected manager and mentor to countless employees throughout his career. Greg was known for his leadership, generosity, and ability to make those around him feel valued.
Greg was also a devoted Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan who loved sports and enjoyed spending time watching games with friends. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or simply sharing laughs and conversation, he treasured the friendships he built over the years.
He had an enormous heart for both people and animals. Greg lovingly cared for the dogs of many local families, treating each one as if they were his own. His kindness, loyalty, and dependable nature made him someone others could always count on.
In the summer of 2022, during a devastating structure fire in Atlantic Beach, Greg demonstrated extraordinary bravery by helping save lives without hesitation. His selfless actions reflected the kind of man he was every day — courageous, compassionate, and always willing to put others before himself.
Though he will be deeply missed, Greg’s memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched with his generosity, friendship, humor, and heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, located at 2400 Mayport Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32233. We would love to have everyone join us at the church to help celebrate Greg’s remarkable life and the incredible impact he made on so many people.
Several friends will also honor Greg’s wishes by taking his ashes out to sea on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
