Hazel Farmer Castellani

Edward Wayne Castellani, 89, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away February 3, 2023. He was a veteran, a father, a husband of 69 years, and in his later life he taught at UNF. In his spare time he loved reading about world history, watching birds, and always lent a helping hand to his neighbors.

Edward was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 4th, 1934.

He graduated from University of Florida with a BA, and graduated from Virginia Tech with Master Degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning. His work took him to Israel, India, and all over the U.S.

Hazel Farmer Castellani, 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away August 9th, of 2025. She is survived by her two son’s David and Brian.

Hazel was born in Odenville, Alabama. She grew up with 7 other brothers and sisters. For her entire life, Hazel has fiercely loved her family, her sons, her husband, her sisters, her brothers, and her parents.

She always advocated for her family no matter the personal cost to herself, because she knew that without uncompromising love, that neither of her son’s would learn the lessons necessary to learn how live a life worth living.

A graveside services for Hazel will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
