Lou Ann, I just wanted to say how sorry I am about Ryan. His and Sean's friendship was such a huge part of Josh and Josiah's lives. They were closer with Ryan and Sean than with their cousins, and I can't imagine them growing up with better friends. I'm pretty sure my boys considered your house a second home! I only saw Ryan a couple of times after he grew up but I always thought he looked like an angel. His death is a crushing blow. I've been where you are since I lost my oldest son Jere twelve years ago. If there's anything at all I can do for you or Sean, please let me know. I still live in the same place so you know where to find me. I grieve with you and will always miss Ryan. Love, Mel Hughes

Luann, our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. I remember Ryan & Shawn taking our kids Beka and Josh on the canal behind your Dad's house. They took the paddle boat and got stuck when the tide went out. It was a terrific memory for my kids. What wonderful young men your boys have become. May the love of God soothe your wounded heart and comfort you.

I only met Ryan a handful of times, whenever Corey and I would go to Jacksonville we would try and have lunch with him. He had such a big heart and when we had to evacuate because of Hurricane Irma he gladly took us and our 5 dogs in. I will always remember it because our nervous dog "became a man" as I put it because he didn't run away when Riley wanted to play.
I'm thankful I got to know him, even for such a short period time. My deepest condolences to every life he brightened.
