

Jamie Lyn (Prugh) Wallace, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 30, 1967, in Jackson, Michigan, alongside her twin sister Jodie; Jamie lived a life defined by her deep love for family, her creative spirit, and her quiet strength.
She is survived by her parents, James A and Cheryl Lynn Prugh of Jacksonville, Florida; her two beloved sons, Zachary James Wallace of Casselberry, Florida, and Andrew James Wallace of Jacksonville, Florida; and her cherished dogs, River and Ringo, affectionately known as "the boys".
She is also survived by her twin sister, Jodie Potter (David) of Jacksonville, Florida; her sister, Tamie Simmons (Ross) of Franklin, Texas; her nephews, Taylor Chatterton and Kyle Chatterton of Franklin, Texas; her niece, Cheryl "Beth" Potter of Jacksonville, Florida; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
Jamie found her greatest joy in her family - especially in spending time with her sons and her dogs. A passionate photographer, she had a gift for capturing beautiful moments of her children, pets, and the coastal scenery she loved so much. She was also creatively talented, enjoying sewing and crafting thoughtful, handmade gifts for those she cared about.
Known for her sharp wit, warm smile, and gracious spirit, Jamie brought laughter and light into every room. She was kind, appreciative, and deeply devoted to the people in her life. Jamie was a lifelong Christian; she always put others before herself.
Jamie spent her childhood moving with her family across several cities in the eastern United States before settling in Florida, first in Destin and later in Fernandina Beach. She graduated from Fernandina Beach High School and later attended the University of North Florida.
She built a successful and respected career in the insurance industry, as well as in human resources and benefits administration. Her co-workers admired her strong work ethic, professionalism, and genuine care for her clients. Jamie and her family greatly appreciate her Strada friends, former coworkers, clients, and colleagues for all their support and kindness.
Jamie's family would like to thank the medical staff for their compassion and care at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and the McGraw Center for Caring of Community Hospice.
Jamie will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
She was a passionate lover of animals. In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to the Jacksonville Humane Society in her name.
