FOND MEMORIES OF A  PASTOR WHO KNEW HOW TO LET A CHURCH GROW WITHOUT DOMINATING THEM, TO GIVE THEM A VISION TO BUILD.  WE KNEW THAT HE BELIEVED THAT WE COULD DO IT.  HE TOLD OTHER MINISTERS THIS ADVICE SO MANY TIMES:  “YOU GOTTA LOVE ‘EM!”  - Skippy Purser, who, at age 17, preached his first sermon on Youth Sunday in John's church while he was on vacation.  Rev. Marvin E. Purser, Jr. Retired Minister, now 77.

Dr. Hibbard touched my life many years ago, as a teenager at First Christian Church of the Beaches.  He was a remarkable minister, eloquent speaker, and man of God.  He now has all the answers to all the questions we have ever had.  God must be smiling to have him back home.  Even so...the loss is great to family and friends.  We send our deepest sympathies.
