June Brady, 82, of Jacksonville, Florida, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 13. June was born in Queens, NY to Joseph and Lena Marciante and attended Queens College of the City University of New York where she earned a BS degree in mathematics in 1960. June and her husband Jim Brady were married later that summer and moved to State College Pennsylvania where Jim was attending graduate school. While in State College June worked at a government contract company as a computer programmer on an early IBM computer. After her first child was born June elected to be a stay-at-home mom where she cared for her family and kept the “empire” going while supporting Jim in his career.
June will be remembered by all for being a good and dear friend, a loving mother and wife, and for being the consummate caregiver. She enjoyed growing her orchids and making her home beautiful and a warm place for her family. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making her mother’s favorite Italian recipes. She loved clothes and especially pocketbooks and shoes.
June is survived by her husband, Jim Brady, and by her son Mark and daughter Karen Alber.
A celebration of June’s life will take place later this year when friends and family can get together again.
