Kevin was born on May 15, 1997, in Ocala, Florida. He later graduated from the University of Florida, a place that would shape both his professional life and his family’s traditions. In 2019, Kevin met his wife, Kahlei, while working in Gainesville. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed their first daughter, Evelynn, in 2020, followed by their second daughter, Eleanor, in 2023.
Kevin and Kahlei were married in Tumon, Guam, where they lived for two years before settling in Jacksonville, Florida. Above all else, Kevin cherished being a father. He found his greatest joy in creating everyday memories with his daughters—whether baking bread together, experimenting with new dinner recipes, or simply sharing time as a family.
As a family, they shared a deep love for the Florida Gators. Football season was especially meaningful, with Saturdays spent proudly dressed in Gator gear, cheering together.
Kevin served as the Gold Night Watch Commander at Naval Station Mayport. During his time there, he earned numerous certifications and qualifications and took pride in mentoring and training his fellow coworkers. He was deeply respected for his leadership, dedication, and genuine care for those he worked alongside.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Kahlei; his daughters, Evelynn and Eleanor; his mother, Laura, and her husband, Steve; and his father, Kevin Payne Sr., and his wife, Renae and his sister Alyssa; and other extended family.
