Lewis Garnet Kent, 88, passed away December 24, 2010. Born in St. Thomas, Ontario, he was a longtime resident of Jacksonville Beach and will be missed by his friends at Seascape and Ocean 14. Mr. Kent proudly served his country in the U.S Navy during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 64 years, Doris C. Kent and granddaughter, Heidi Lou Gorczyca and is survived by his daughter Laurie Meckl; son, Bryan Kent; brothers, John Ross Kent, Jr., and Edgar J. Kent; and grandson, Eric William Meckl.
Graveside services, with Navy honors, will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on January 27, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.
